A Sense of Place

At Frog’s Way, it’s easy to slip into a deeply relaxing sense of place. The paintings and photographs of local scenes by local artists adorn every room. We’ve just freshened up the Lavender room with this year’s harvest of lavender bunches, grown in the front yard, and refreshed our bouquets of dried lotus pods gathered from the swimming pond, seen below.

Outside of the picture windows are a variety of feeders that attract cardinals and woodpeckers, goldfinches and chickadees. And our breakfast foods include yogurt and milk, apple cider and jams, berries and honey that are all locally sourced. The trim and other wood features come from nine different local trees, from maple and oak, to basswood and larch. The bounty of the Finger Lakes is astonishing and sometimes you can feel it just sitting in one of guest rooms.
